There is a small village on the island of Éilís Mór. It contains a schoolhouse, a graveyard, and a quay. It appears to be the residence of most of the island's inhabitants, with the exception of the lighthouse keeper and the Donnán family, who live elsewhere.
When Wakefield first arrived on the island, several villagers greeted him. When he returned from dinner with Lord Donnán, he observed a ritual in which people buried mirrors in the village graveyard. When he returned from the solitary house, he found that the village was deserted. When he dug up the mirrors, a masked stranger appeared and led him to Kieran's playhouse.
